1. Overview

Teaching Tutors (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our platform at teachingtutors.app. By using Teaching Tutors, you agree to the terms of this policy.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: Name, email address, and authentication data collected through Clerk (our authentication provider) when you create an account.
  • Subscription & billing data: Payment method details processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers — Stripe handles all payment data.
  • Usage data: Lessons you create, game scores, progress statistics, and achievements within the platform.
  • Device & log data: Browser type, IP address, and access timestamps collected automatically for security and diagnostics.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to: provide and operate the Teaching Tutors platform; process subscription payments; send account-related transactional emails (receipts, trial expiry notices); improve product features based on aggregate usage patterns; respond to support requests; and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share data only with the following service providers as necessary to operate the platform:

  • Clerk (authentication) — manages user identity and sign-in
  • Stripe (payments) — processes and stores billing information

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use session cookies required for authentication (provided by Clerk). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from signing in.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and lesson data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 90 days before permanent deletion. You may request immediate deletion by contacting us.

7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to or restrict processing; and data portability.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email in Section 11. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Teaching Tutors accounts are intended to be created by adults (teachers, parents, or learners aged 18+). Educators and parents may create learner profiles on behalf of students, including those under 13, under their own account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption, secure token-based authentication via Clerk, and access-controlled cloud infrastructure via Microsoft Azure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice within the platform. Continued use of Teaching Tutors after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Last updated: April 2026.
